restaurant OF THE WEEK
Las Vacas Gordas
Why? Noodles are the new sushi. Low-key Argentine steakhouse Las Vacas Gordas has undergone a makeover, taking over adjacent space and doubling its square footage. The revamped restaurant boasts an entire wall covered in Uruguayan cowhide (you’ll feel like you’re in an old Gateway computer commercial) and a glass-walled wine cellar from which they fetch the exclusive-to-Las-Vacas-Gordas house Malbec. The highlight of the new menu is the 36-inch skirt steak “La Enrollada” -- so called because its length demands that it be served rolled up.
